I've been a crazy sewing lady this past week...and I have lots of pictures to show you, just not all today.
This little jacket is another pattern from Ottobre, the 1/2007 issue. I am so tickled with the way the jacket finished up. It's perfect for the cool autumn weather, and I think it's adorable on Emily. I wrote a review at Pattern Review if you want more information about the jacket.
Oh, and I decided to enter the jacket in my very first contest on Pattern Review. The winners will receive $150 and $75 gift certificates from Sew Baby. I have little anticipation of winning, but am just so excited to enter!
I think that is destined to become a childhood memory... In years to come she'll say, "I remember Mama made me this pretty pink jacket and on the inside..." :o)
I love this jacket! My mother made my daughter (about 20 years or more ago) a red corduory coat with matching flannel lining. The lining has little rosebuds on it. I still have it. This gives me the idea to post a picture of it sometimes.
Hey Ruth, I am making this little jacket too and I'm stuck on attaching the lining to the shell at the front "edges" I don't really understand...is the lining sewn to the shell all the way across or just at the corners or what? If you have a second to email and explain it to me at rachelbeck@bellsouth.net I would so appreciate it. OK it may take longer than a second--HA.
Wonderful jacket, good luck in the contest.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely. Emily is very blessed!! She's also very cute!
