Vintage Linens Baby Quilts, Blogreader Special

In the next week or so I am going to be listing these vintage linens baby quilts in my etsy shop. I thought first though that I'd offer them to our blogreaders for at special price in case any of you have fallen in love with vintage sheets as much as I have and but don't have the time to collect the materials and sew one up for yourself.

These each measure 33 inches by 39 inches and are made from 100% vintage sheets and linens. The quilt top and backings are layered with a polyester batting and they are each machine quilted in a slightly different pattern and the bindings are sewn on with a zig-zag stitch. They are super soft and so pretty...perfect for a special baby gift.

I have 7 available and they are $42 each plus $6.00 for priority shipping. That is $10 less then I plan to list them for on etsy. If you are interested, shoot me an e-mail with the number of the one you want! I also have more pictures of each available if you want to take a closer look at a particular one.

  1. They're all so pretty! I have a question. When I'm looking for vintage sheets - how do I know it's vintage? I just picked a sheep up last week and I don't think it is but it is pretty :)

  3. Jessica, your quilts are all so beautiful. I love them all!!!!

Suzanne, Sometimes it's hard to know if a sheet is vintage, but perhaps Jessica can tell you what to look for.

When I was collecting sheets I recognized a lot of them from sheets I remembered my grandmother having. In fact, I had one sheet from my grandmother and found another identical sheet at the thrift store. Also, I bought several brand-new-in-the-package sheets at thrift stores and it was obvious from the packaging and the price tags that the sheets were vintage.

Yes, I noticed the "sheep." Thank you for the laughter you brought to my morning. :)

  5. well, Suzanne, Etsy defines vintage as 20 years or older, so that's one definition. I think most of the sheets used in these quilts were from the 60's and 70's just because of the styles of the prints. I've found that I really don't like many of the ones from the 90's--the colors aren't my style.

I think if your sheet is pretty and you like it, you should use it!!

  7. All of your projects turn out looking so fun and pretty. I have a website, it is new, and I am working on putting more sewing projects up. It is a site that hopefully helps others learn how to make some crafts. The link is The-Hobby-Barrel
