Today I am going to sew. I am determined. I haven't been up to my sewing room since the end of September; it's been over a month and I've missed it. Too much going on. Sigh. Maybe sewing something--anything--will help bring me out of this melancholy state that I'm in.

  1. Ruth, you are such an inspiration to me. I was inspired when I saw your dress made from Simplicity 2591. Have you seen mine yet? It was the base for my India's Alice dress.

I know that for me, I love to sing while sewing. I put on some great worship music that really opens my lungs. When I get breathing deeply and singing to Jesus, I am filled with inspiration and creativity. Then I get a lot of sewing done!

I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

  2. sewing makes my happy too! When things get so busy around my house and I just dont have time to sew, I get sad! I have withdrawal issues~ I get to the point where I.JUST.NEED.TO.SEW.SOMETHING/ANYTHING! I usually drop everything after the kids go to sleep and after a good 3 or 4 hours, 1 dress later, even if its 2am.... I FEEL BETTER! Ahhhh..........

  3. That works for me--even if it is a scarf or just serging the edge of some towels or something--just SEW!!! You are a great seamstress, so something will come to you and get you smiling before you know it!

  5. You'll get it back...sometimes it's feast or famine, at least for me. Do something small and quick, and I'm sure that you'll be back up and running in no time!

  6. Hang in there! I'm sure when you finally get time to do some sewing it will be all the sweeter for the wait.

Looking forward to seeing your posts, they are really inspirational!

  7. I've been feeling the same way. I broke my arm in mid-Sept and haven't been able to sew since then and it's definitely been affecting my attitude. Today was the first day back and I am already in a better mood. =)
