more baby sewing...

Finally, here are a couple pictures of a quilt set that I made for a friend. Her shower was yesterday, so now I can show it off!

I backed the quilt with blue minkee fabric, lined it with batting, and the top is patchwork squares of blue minkee, cream chenille, and coordinating blue and tan prints that I found at Hancocks. I loved sewing this quilt, and was so pleased with how it came out--so soft and cuddly...it almost made me wish I was having another baby boy. =) I'm working on another one to put in my etsy shop, but it's not quilted yet.

Coordinating burp clothes...

I've also been crocheting baby blankets again. I just finished one for another pregnant friend, but this sweet ducky blanket is for my baby. When I saw this fabric on etsy, I knew it would be perfect for a baby blanket...plus I already had the yellow thread to match!

You can check out the clearance section on Mineymo's shop for more good deals...

Little lavender sachet pillows in my shop... These are a couple of the prints in the little quilt I'm making for the baby. I finished the quilt top last night, and plan on doing the quilting later this week. I LOVE lavender right now...lets hope baby does too!

Blessings,
Jessica

  1. Those fabrics are just gorgeous. Wherever did you find the map and airplane prints?

  2. A NEW BABY - how wonderful! You will have so much fun sewing for that special baby. All it takes is a good pattern, a little fabric, a little time and love. It is fun to show off a baby with adorable outfits made by you. You can dress your baby any way you choose. It will not always be this way because in just a few years, they will have their own ideas as to what they wish to wear.

  5. I really REALLY love your baby boy blanket you created for your friend. Where on earth did you find such lovely fabric (the planes and such)? I am new to reading your blog, but I love it and am so inspired (I am a relatively new seamstress). Anyway, you do really great work. Thanks for sharing your lovely creations!

  6. Sarah and Jael, I got the fabric at my Hancock Fabrics store. Some of the prints are still available on their website under Children's Prints. Here's a link. You have to look through all the pages as they aren't all together even though they are meant to coordinate together.

  7. The baby quilt is adorable! I love the airplane/navigation theme to it and the softness of it that fits baby but the theme will follow him for awhile! I'm sure your friend was DELIGHTED to receive these!
